Magnesium Chloride is a salt found in salt lakes all over the world and is usually extracted from the Dead Sea, the Great Salt Lake or Ancient Underground Seabeds. It's the main constituent of Dead Sea Salt, making up more than 33% of its weight. Magnesium Chloride is a desiccant and attracts moisture from the air even in solid flake form. It's a white, odourless salt with a bitter taste and has been used for many centuries for its health benefits.
How to Magnesium Chloride
Magnesium Chloride Hexahydrate can be added to marine aquarium water to increase Magnesium levels. Correct Magnesium levels help maintain the appropriate carbonate and calcium levels to allow coral and algae growth. Low Magnesium levels can result in a lower pH which affects coral growth and thus reducing the aquariums health.
Magnesium Chloride can be added to your bath to create a relaxing and rejuvenating soak. Add 1-3 cups of Magnesium Chloride Hexahydrate to your normal bath (preferably warm not hot). Magnesium Chloride improves skin barrier function, increases skin hydration and helps to heal wounds.
